Social distancing ... day 59

Monday.

The weather was weird today. It started off just gorgeous! We were able to work outside on the deck.

We even brought the cat outside on her new leash.

She was loving it!
This princess wouldn’t settle until her bed was  outside.

Then it turned very cold and rainy with thunderstorms! Thankfully we were able to get in a small walk. I was starting to get a little stir crazy.

Work was tricky yesterday. We needed to roll out some new Information for virtual iep meetings and we had lots of technical difficulties.

This new normal is tricky.

After work aisling has a drive by parade for some
Friends 16th birthday. I loved seeing her see her friends again. I haven’t seen her this happy in such a long time. She misses her friends so very much. It’s hard to see.  It was nice to see her smiling again.

We heard tonight that connor and siobhans recital is definitely cancelled. This was a really rough blow. A parent sits through senior celebrations and solo dances in recitals for 12 years and just can’t help but picture her own child. It’s so hard to think I won’t have that. I know in the scheme of things it’s very small and of course I’ll always be able to see him dance; but it’s just the year without closure that’s so very hard.

The governor announced a four phase plan for reopening. Phase four is “new normal” and only occurs when there is a vaccine released to the public. We could be 12-18 months away from that point. So we are in this for the long haul.

We are still waiting to hear about summer camps. But in the meantime we are still counting down.
