When a door closes...

Wow, what an insane year it has been.

You will notice (those of you who have not left for better waters) that I have neglected this poor blog for the past two months. Sadly, there has been some insanity going on in our lives lately. I have had an extremely trying year at work this year. Eventually, although I tried my hardest, I ended up losing my job. The worst part of the whole thing, I think, was that I also lost what I thought was a close friend in the process. I have been working hard at listening to the Lord, and trying to keep in mind the plan I know he has for me. (I only wish I knew what it was!) This past year has taught me the strength of the relationships around me, both friends, family, and my marriage.

This blog is devoted to the laughter and joy that I find in raising a large family. Therefore, I did not want this information to infect the blog posts I was creating. Due to that, and the fact that I was working like a dog to try and save my job, the blog was neglected. Well, neglected no more! I am attempting to come on back and write again. This blog is about my children, and for my children, and I don't want to let that go.

Having four children means that there is never a dull moment. Due to that fact that I will not be able to gather and post all the things that the children have been doing in the past two months. I can tell you that they included:
baseball
cub scout projects
girl scout sleepovers
turning two
getting ice cream from the ice cream truck
playing in the kiddie pool
playing on the swings
piano recitals
watching the marathon
being wonderful curious children

For tonight, I will show you the children writing letters to the fairies. Connor has a friend at school who apparently has a fairy as a pen pal. Connor decided to write to a fairy as well. Coincidentally, while we were prepping the garden, we found a fairy house. (Or the beginnings thereof). Connor and Aisling added to the fairy house and wrote letters to the presumed fairy. I hope he or she writes back! It was simply magical to see them get so excited about it.
And, just for sticking with me, here are some bonus pics:
1) First dinner on the deck!

2) hanging out a brother's baseball game:
3) Being silly at the ice cream stand. So far it is turning into a wonderful summer. I hope you are enjoying yours as much as we are enjoying ours.
