So funny...

You'll notice that I haven't mentioned a single darn thing on this blog about our new president. There are a few reasons for that. The first is that really I figure this blog is more to keep people up to date with the kids (and of course a few of my unrelated ramblings). Secondly, I haven't the ability or space to write all that I feel about it. It's an amazing thing.
However, I did want to share this with you. I love the Beyonce' video from which tihs was spoofed (It's a good one to jog to!) and I thought this was hilarious. Enjoy!

It was only a matter of time...

...until I had to cut something out of someone's hair. I've been a parent for almost seven years now, and frankly I am surprised it hasn't happened before today. I was able to get gum out of hair last year with peanut butter and hot water, and last year I was able to work a truck out of hair as well. This time however, out came the scissors.

Aisling was playing with a friction truck, you know the kind with warning labels on the packages that say "do not place close to hair, risk of entanglement" blah blah blah? Apparently that's actually true. She had that truck utterly wound up in her hair.

She ran out to me crying (it looked like it hurt a bit), so I did the first most sensible thing, I called for the camera.

Here we have the truck firmly lodged in the hair:
Yup, firmly:
Really firmly:Poor unhappy truck-wearing girl: (In her undershirt only, no matter how cold, and also wearing her purse. Gotta have that at all times...)I got out as much as I could, but there was no way to get this out. The hair was also wrapped all around itself even once it was freed from the truck:(It's obviously not much... thank goodness!)
Here we have the hair that ended up being cut out: (Not a bald spot, but still... hair... cut...)

video games live

Connor and I went out on a "date" night the other night. We went out to dinner at Sweet waters on Church Street in Burlington, and then we went out to Video Games Live at the Flynn Center. This show was amazing! I never thought of the music from video games as actual music, but boy is it! We had a blast. They had a screen behind the orchestra on which they showed clips from the games. The graphics of video games these days are pretty damn amazing as well. (Don't fret, there was a piece done in the 'old style' with some music (if you can call it that) and some graphics from "pong")! This is a traveling show, so if you ever have the chance to check it out you should. www.videogameslive.com

It goes without saying that I had a wonderful time with Connor, and was very happy tp spend the evening with just him.

Connor and I before heading out:

Oh yeah, we're totally cool.If you look closely at the people in costume, you can see my friend's son dressed up in Guitar Hero gear at the far right. (Up on stage and everything! He's a pretty cool 10 year old!)Connor on the way home from the show: (11:00PM)

This guy was also there:

Here's a sample video of Video Games Live. We took some video as well, but this is probably better.

Seriously, if you can ever go, DO! (If you can bring Connor, even better!)

Kidisms....

Aisling: "I'm trying to teach her to crawl but she's not even looking".

Darn that baby.

Connor: "Guess what?"
you: "What?"
Connor: "Chicken butt"
(Repeat at will at least 300 times per day)

Aisling: "Look the baby can roll over! She learned how to roll over!" (She's known how for a few months now)

The Christmas Pageant!

We had the pageant again this year. It was on January 4th. Connor was once again a king, and Aisling and Wyatt were both angels. Wyatt had the esteemed position of being the star pf Bethlehem forward. He succeeded! Enjoy the pics
(In other news, Siobhan now has a tooth!)

Siobhan watching her siblings.
Angel waiting patiently!
Wyatt and Aisling bringing up the star. Wyatt has now done this for three years. He has, for the past two years, walked the star to the front of the church. It's a pivitol moment in the pageant, and there are people who claim to cry watching Wyatt walk the star up. It's pretty amazing!
Kings waiting to bring gifts! (Not sure what Connor's doing with his mouth here...)

Goofy Kings

The king and the angel. (for now)
The three kiddos!Once again, the gifts have been brought, and the baby Jesus born. Happy Epiphany!
