Social distancing ....day 30

Easter Sunday 

Crazy it’s already been a month. Today we were able to try to keep the usual Easter Sunday traditions. I did miss the usual friends and food today so much. I was also missing wyatt very much today. 

The kids enjoyed their Easter baskets. We added a few games this year to help with the quarantine. 

We also did an Easter egg hunt. It’s weird to think it might be connor’s last hunt with us. It’s so unusual. We tried really hard to make it special today. It was a beautiful sunny day today. 

We did provide a LOT of candy today. :)

After that we went to visit with poppy. We stayed the six feet away but still had a blast. We needed il ordering Chinese food. 

We had a fantastic visit. I missed the usual chaos and home cooking. But it was really wonderful to see poppy. He was in really spirits today. He didn’t need groceries today so we were able to visit. :) we played a game and ate our dinner. 

Overall a pretty good day.  Missing everyone so much and missing the usual traditions but tried to make the best of it all for sure. 

Social distancing.... day 29

Saturday 

Today I was able to sleep late again which was so lovely. :)

I did my yoga this morning, with some help from sam. 

After that I took Aisling to the empty studio so she could do her dance class. It’s hard to find room for irish dancing with five people home in a ranch house. I stopped by for a coffee this morning and delivered (carefully) a coffee to friends as well. 

We also had a Girl Scout meeting today. The girls were motivated to start earning badges. We put together a google classroom and jumped in. I’m excited they want to try! 

The kids also decorated Easter eggs tonight. We broke... several lol but had a good time. 

Connor noted that this could be his last time dying eggs with us. A sad thought for sure.

Tonight on my Facebook memories was connors first title win. That was in 2015. 

At our competition a few weeks ago we were able to recreate this pictures when connor won second runner up. 

It’s tough to think about the fact that we likely won’t have any more competitions with connor. We had a lot of things planned for this year, and it’s heartbreaking to think they won’t happen. It feels like we just don’t get closure. 

I’m thankful every day that we are still employed and healthy, but it’s still so sad to consider what’s lost. 

Social distancing .... day 28

Good Friday 

Siobhan and I didn’t have school or work today. Connor and Aisling had some work to make up and al had to work. There was a lot lt TV watched today and a lot of wii games played. I know i personally needed a chill day and I’m sure Siobhan did as well. Sadly it was raining so we didn’t go for our walk. I did, though, get in some yoga. 

This afternoon we had a delivery of some signs for our house. It’s a terrible senior year all around. We are regularly mourning the things connor is missing or will miss. Given that, we are trying to find every opportunity to celebrate that we can. These signs will be up for as long as we need them. 

I’ve also decided to add some badge work to our remote Girl Scout meetings. Tomorrow will be the first online badge we try. I’ve chosen a badge around social media, which seems so fitting since that’s how their school and socializing is happening. 

I’m going they stay engaged. 

Al and siobhan played a Rubik’s game during dinner. Siobhan won. :) 

For dinner we again ordered take out from a local place. We are eating more take out lately (once a week) but it feels nice to hopefully be helping out our neighborhood restaurants. Also it’s so yummy. :)

Aisling had another “Netflix” party tonight. I think she’s loving those. What’s nice opportunity for her to socialize with her friends. It’s the little things at this point. 

Siobhan has some quality snuggles with the cat tonight.  It’s funny, and a little surprising, but i do think the cats are happy to have us home more. They have been very snuggly. 

Siobhan also gave me quite the hairstyle tonight. 

I’m a lucky mama. 😂

I meant to decorate eggs tonight and I totally forgot. I’ll need to do that tomorrow. Maybe in the evening. Tomorrow is a rather full day of dance classes and then Girl Scouts.

Social distancing .... day 27

Thursday. 

Today was Thursday of a four day week. So that’s always nice. I realized I forgot to do the blog yesterday.  It was a bit of a crazy day at work but we found time to go for a walk in the beautiful weather yesterday. Aisling and I accidentally twinned. 

When we got home we were able to play a dinner game. 

Thursday was a crazy day. I was in tons of meetings across the day. Seems like that will continue to happen as we figure out remote learning. 

Today was also extremely cold and rainy. So no walks happened today. Siobhan was pretty cranky today so we allowed some extra TV watching. 

I needed to leave and run an errand today. I needed to go get fingerprints done for my other job. It was eerie being outside. I wore my mask which was a little  unsettling, but very important. 

When we got home we decided to make a treat. We had too much dough but it turned out all right. 

All in all a rather stressful day. Glad for a long weekend so we can rest together. These days are so different and so stressful. My back has been very sore from all the sitting. This is not the life I am used to.

Social distancing day 25.

Happy Tuesday. 

The weather today was gorgeous. A great day to set up the deck furniture. 

I had lots of long meetings today to discuss rolling out plans for special Ed students. Lots of long meetings with very few answers. 

I got some great pictures from wyatts house manager. It looks like he is staying very healthy! 

The big kids and I took the dogs for their walk. Siobhan has dance and al had meetings. It was gorgeous outside. 

We were even able to enjoy dinner on the deck tonight. Belgium waffles with whipped cream. 

Or... just whipped cream. 

After dinner we spent some time around the fire. 

Connor even participated in an online class outside 

It was a beautiful day today. Still full of so many questions. But it was nice to spend a lot of time outside. We FaceTimed with Julie and callled poppy. We are missing them all tons.
