Social distancing ...day 18

Tuesday.  

Tuesdays are tough. Tuesdays are hard days around here. We tried to keep our usual schedule. 

We tried a new yoga video today. It was pretty tough. We’ll keep at it though. 

Al premiered a new outfit and background for his online meetings today. What we do to make people smile. 

He’s also been wearing the covid mullet to work. 

Business on the top and casual on the bottom. 

The girls made their lunches today. Grilled cheese and soup. 

Connor got a lot of class work completed. 

All three did online dance classes today as well. 

The weather was beautiful so we took our walk. 

I heard on the news that they are adding 250 hospital beds to the DCU center, and they are looking for other sites. They’ve also suggested that perhaps people should be wearing masks everywhere. Which could work if people could buy them anywhere. Strange to think Of the dcu center being used as a hospital. We heard of a friend from Vermont who lost a cousin tonight and there were 12 deaths at a veterans home across a few days. We are told the top of the curve will come in about 2 weeks. It feels like we are waiting for chaos. It feels too quiet for the things happening.

Day 17

Happy Monday!

Today was another rather boring day. :) the kids seem to have had an uptick in school work. Siobhan is dedicated to doing her own schedule and getting it all done. She has a nice routine of work then a quick break then back to work. 

I spent most of the day on the computer trying to figure out distance Learning for my sub separate students. Some ideas in the mix but huge learning curves for all of them. It’s great that there are so many resources out there but it’s also very overwhelming. 

Sam definitely seems to be getting the hang of this. 

Connor and siobhan started online dance classes this week so there will be a change in our schedule again. They seemed to go well tonight. (No pictures of connor today) 

Siobhan also had another online Girl Scout meeting. This one through council to work on her journey. 

Again, I’m extremely thankful for so many opportunities. 

Aisling did a lot of work today and also did some dance exercises as well. 

We played cards with dinner tonight. Then al and I played backgammon. I won. :)

Our schedule was really off today and we had a very late dinner. Without the usual hum of Activities it’s getting tricky to keep track of time. We will keep working on it.

Lazy Sunday today. 

Siobhan and I didn’t sleep well last night and we were  up before everyone. We watched “finding dory”. Haven’t seen it in a while and it was nice to just chill with her. 

When al woke up he made some breakfast and we started siobhans voyage to nerddom by starting the Star Wars movies. She enjoyed! 

She didn’t want to watch another one today so we’ll try again. :)

Al and I worked on the puzzle for a bit today as well. I did my usual Yoga and had consists with the dog and cat this time. 

Tried a new chili recipe in the crock pot. It turned out really good. Pretty flavorful. 

It was really cold and rainy today so we didn’t take a walk. The older kids slept pretty late and had very lazy quiet days today. Mostly in their rooms just chilling. 

Trump today extended the social distancing until April 30. Schools are out until May 4 anyway, so that change doesn’t really affect us at all. 

One day at a time for sure. Have a great end to your weekend.

Social distancing .... day 15

Happy Saturday!

We had another visit today from the QuaranT-Rex! He brought donuts with him as well. Our favorite kind of dinosaur. 

Al did groceries today. He sent me a picture of this sign in the store. 

He has to go to several stores to find toilet paper and there were no cleaning supplies anywhere. He did find fresh salmon and meat this week though. 

We washed the groceries and sanitized them before putting them away. Who knows if it will help but it made me feel better. 

I kept the groceries on the “dirty” side before sanitizing them. Then I put them on the clean side and had kids put them away. 

We made some progress on a puzzle today. Harder than it looks! 

We also had our first ever online Girl Scout meeting. The girls have requested to do this every week. That tells me a lot about how much these girls are missing one another. I miss them too very much. 

The girls even participated in a “flag” ceremony and Girl Scout promise. Pretty amazing stuff. I’m happy to help maintain some order for them in the chaos. 

After that we also had another game night in honor of vaughans birthday. 

I had an email from wyatts house letting me know he’s bored. :) I’m hoping I can bring some of his toys over there. 

Another day of mixed emotions. Getting through it with care. I hope everyone else is safe and healthy. 

Social distancing.... day 14

Happy Friday and welcome to week two. 

Aisling and I did some yoga again this morning. Sam joined us.

 

Al got comfortable in his zoom meeting today. 

Siobhan did a fantastic job with her studies today. She did her whole schedule independently. Very proud. 

We did our usual walk. It was beautiful. Connor had a zoom meeting to discuss setting up dance classes so he didn’t join us. 

I went out to get take out tonight. It was very somber to see the entire strip mall empty. No cars really anywhere. 

After dinner we had a zoom party with Julie and Cadence. We played farkle! It was a blast. I’m thrilled we have this technology to help us stay in touch. I miss them so much but this helps. 

I’m told we might get more information about school next week so I’m really hoping we do. It’s hard to now know anytbjng. It’s a lot of worrying. 

A friend of mine is sewing masks so I sent her some supplies through amazon. We heard from wyatts house manager that he seems to be doing really well, but he’s a little bored. :) hoping they find all his switch toys to use with him. 

Hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Hoping we get to take out the deck furniture tomorrow.
