Social distancing... day 13

Thursday. 

We heard this evening that Vermont is closed for the rest of the year. That has put everyone in a somber mood. We are hoping that there will be a way for connor to celebrate his graduation if Massachusetts follows suit. 

Yoga today was Interesting. 

Siobhan and I didn’t get much work done again today. We tried. But focus just wasn’t there. We will keep at it. 

We bought connor a new shirt. Trying to bring a little humor to a very difficult year. I love that he’s able to see the humor. 

We made a great lunch of caprese and played qwirkle. I’m loving how many games we’re playing. 

Connor and I drove to the dande studio and found siobhans missing tap shoes. Thank goodness. 

After that we ran to cvs. It was Interesting to see all the restrictions in place for social distancing. 

No one was allowed to go in front of the colored lines. There were tables set up for us to pay with distance between us and staff. 

These were the lines on the ground for places in line. Everyone was cautious around everyone else. Really tried hard not to go near anyone else. 

While we were at RDA we also grabbed some Girl Scout stuff. I picked up all of their notebooks. I honestly don’t know why. I think because i was hoping for some normalcy. 

We went for our usual walk. It was really nice out! 

Siobhan did some FaceTiming with Sophie. It’s really the best way to connect these days. I know they miss each other. 

Siobhan  also decided to make some Rice Krispies treats. They were delicious 

We played the game of life with dinner. I really do love having everyone home. We are connecting so much. Wish it was for better reasons though. 

One thing we’ve all been paying attention to as well is the world around us. Siobhan took some pictures of the sky tonight and we saw a beautiful bird on the bird feeder. Not sure we’ve taken the time as much to notice these things. 

Well. That sums up the day. A somber one but lots of time appreciating one another. 

Social distancing..... day 12

Happy Wednesday

Today I had a hard time remembering what day it was. All three kids wanted to sleep in today. Connor couldn’t sleep last night. He had a pretty sad day yesterday so we let him sleep. 

Siobhan started her day with some Snuggles. 

We played smart ass with lunch. I’m no good at that game!

Siobhan used the day to clean her room today. I didn’t have her do a full day of studies. Today was emotionally draining for some reason so we went easy. She’s looking for her lost tap shoes. Even with this much trash she did not find them. 

But she did a nice overhaul on her room. 

Connor also learned about more adulting today. He paid his taxes. He’s actually getting a refund! But only about $13 lol!

Get connor the computer he’s been begging us for. With school moving to online and his computer being broken, it was rather essential.

Given all the sad days lately it was nice to have happy news. 

We also decided to go see my dad tonight. He needed groceries and we didn’t want to send him to the store. We all stayed six feet away and I constantly followed everyone around with bleach wipes and Lysol spray. It was really great to see him. I think it made him happy. I worry about him living alone. 

All in all a good day. Quiet today and a little somber. But really great to see poppy. 

Social distancing... day 11

Today was another slow day, although I felt quite productive. 

We had a struggle getting out of bed today. 

We started with our usual yoga... with dogs. 

The kids got a lot of work done and I had several meetings. 

Connor and Siobhan did a tap class today! And Aisling had a zoom online class. Aisling also had a Netflix party tonight. I love the creativity in social distancing. 

We took another walk today in the beautiful weather. 

Dinner feels a little bit like “chopped”. What can we make with random foods? We pulled together a minestrone soup! No child ate it.... but I thought it was delicious. 

Siobhan was lots of help in cooking. 

I mailed dad a new sudoku book and he called to let me know he’s enjoying it. Hoping that keeps him out of trouble. 

Social distancing .... day 10

And it’s back to Monday. 

I had quite a few meetings today. Still waiting for more guidance from dese to figure out next steps. Things are moving slowly. 

Siobhan did a New York City ballet class today so that was great. The kids also did a great job with all of their lessons today. I guess they are finding comfortable learning spaces. 

Connor also did a ballet class and a tap class today. And aisling worked on her drills and new steps. 

Connor and I played scrabble with lunch, although he cheated. 

Siobhan also did a “field trip” this afternoon. The Cincinnati zoo is doing live videos each day. Todayit  was all about cheetahs, which are her favorite animal. 

Can’t beat a field trip from the couch! 

The kids also did some chores today. 

We had card games with dinner 

After dinner we girls did some face masks. 

Today was a quiet day. The weather was kind of dreary so we did not go for our walk. Conversations seem to circle around the reality of not returning to work by April 6. Massachusetts is sarting a total shutdown of non essential businesses tomorrow. We are all really hoping that people stick to the social distancing and flatten the curve of this thing. 

Dad was discharged from the hospital today and is home. He’s been there since Friday. Fingers crossed he stays safe and healthy.

Happy Sunday!! 

Today al got up with the dogs and let me sleep in. The kids were also slow to wake. A nice lazy morning all around. 

When aisling awoke we decided to make donuts! A friend had shared a recipe. It was so fun having some special time with her. 

The recipe was tricky but we loved it. The donuts turned out a little heavy, but delicious!!

Aisling also made a Nutella glaze to go on them. So good!! 

In repayment for our dinosnack visit yesterday, we dressed up and delivered some to our friends. :)

Siobhan worked on some cool make up (when she wasn’t watching a ton of tv today). It came out pretty neat! 

We took the dogs for a walk again. It was cold this evening so we only did a mile. Connor didn’t join us tonight. 

I made some visuals for the food situation. Honestly if  a bcba isn’t working then what does she have to do with her time?? Excess visuals. That’s what. 

Maybe now the fruit will get eaten. 

Today was a pretty chill day. Enjoying the time home with everyone. Connor did a great dance class and Aish did a dance workout. Al did groceries. He had to go to several stores to get thing; as many shelves looked like this: 

I’m making some friend chicken with the extra oil so we can’t say we aren’t eating well.  :)
