Social distancing.... day 69

Friday 

Today was connors last day of high school. It was an emotional day. I took him to chs for some pictures. 

The students at chs have a tradition where on the last day all the seniors go to a specific place and hang out. It’s very sad that he didn’t get to do that. There were apparently a lot of seniors who *did* do that. That’s frustrating to me. It’s not safe and it’s not respectful. 

The weather was lovely although really hot today! We played a game outside with lunch. 

Siobhan has a birthday parade today. While driving home we saw a huge turkey! 

We ate dinner outside. We also ordered some ice cream sundaes and played games outside to celebrate connors last day. 

After dinner we watched some tv outside as well. 

It was a juice day and a great way to celebrate connors last day today. 

Social distancing... day 61

Wednesday; our anniversary. 

Today was our 20th anniversary. We had planned to go away for the weekend. We’ve only done that twice in 20 years. It will be a big celebration when the world opens back up. 

Here’s to year 20. Pandemic style. 

I did get a reminder this mid if that It was time for connors spring concert and senior solos. That was a sad reminder. 

Yesterday siobhan and I spent some time cleaning her room and getting it organized. She’s got so much free time on her hands now that she’s getting more and more interested in some of her projects. Today she worked on electric circuits!  

Today was nice and sunny but pretty windy outside! I ended up not going for a walk today but I did fill out six graduation cards for class of 2020 students on a list. 

We also had some delicious take out lunch today from cafe 12. I meant to take a picture but I just ate it too fast. :) 

We planned some flowers in the front of the house today, including the ones from my mayday basket from grace and emma. 

We also had a game night today. We played quiplash using zoom to share our screen with connors girl friend abby. It was a blast! 

Today was a quiet day but a nice day overall. 

Social distancing.... day 46

Thursday 

Today was a cold and rainy day. There really was not a lot going on today. I had a really hard time focusing on work today. I did as much as i could but also spent some time hanging out with Siobhan. 

Connor and Siobhan has their dance classes today. It made me laugh because they did the same class in two different rooms. The teachers voice was echoing. Such is life now i guess. 

When connor was in sixth grade his English teacher had then write letters to themselves and she wrote letters to them. She said she would mail them during their senior year. He got his letter today. 

His grade six teacher was the one who suggested he get Into the musical in grade seven. In the body of her letter she wrote “I hope you eventually joined the drama program”. I’m sure she’s not surprised at how things have gone for him! 

Funnily enough, aisling and Siobhan have had the same grade six teachers so they will also get letters. This is such a thoughtful thing. And so nice to get it now.
