Saturday

Yesterday al and I went shopping and then went to eat dinner. We ended up inside a restaurant. It was a little unnerving. But it was also nice. I haven’t been I side a restaurant since March. 

The menus were all online 

They were at half capacity and anytime you left your table you needed a mask. Interesting night.

Saturday 

We were all exhausted today! We slept really late. Just had a pretty chill day at the lake. However we did do some tie dye. 

Siobhan also spent some time with a VR game system. That was pretty fun to watch!

Saturday. 

Today was a pretty good day. The pollen count is through the roof! But other than that things were good. 

We had a great Girl Scout meeting today where we had a paint session! I had a friend lead us in painting the same scene. It was loads of fun and helped us all to feel connected. 

It’s things like that which help us to all feel connected. 

We also ate dinner from a new place tonight. We tried milk city barbecue. We’re trying to support more black owned businesses. 

I can’t complain when it tastes so good.

Social distancing ... day 77

Saturday 

It’s been a little rough around here. This blog was intended to be all about how we are faring during the pandemic. But now the country is on fire and there are protests everywhere. I really can’t put it all into words. It seems to be white people inciting violence. I’m not sure how  this all ends. It’s scary and it makes me so sad and upset. 

On my end I have a 12 year old who really doesn’t understand it yet. She spent the morning engaged in art projects. 

She also created a house for the cats. Complete with window. 

We had a zoom Girl Scout meeting. 

We ate dinner on the deck again and the dogs are getting more comfortable with their bed. 

I had a friend make me a mask with a clear front so i can talk to my student who is hearing impaired. The mask isn’t perfect but she did it in one day! We need more of that in the world. 

I’m felling restless and unsettled with the news of rioting. But I don’t really know what to say about it. I’m in a bubble here. But will do my best to do better and seek solutions. Black lives matter.

Saturday 

Today was an exhausting day. I was emotional all day and snapped at all of the kids as well as al.  I really hope that soon we are able to head out of here and go camping or something. 

It’s been a lot to have the kids 24/7.  It’s a lot to be asked to ge available 24 hours a day with no break. I felt really exhausted and overwhelmed today. 

At least siobhan and I were able to get outside for a little bit.

Saturday 

Today was a nice day. I had some crafting time with friends from Vermont over zoom. I wish I had taken a picture!  It was a lot of fun!

Connor worked on a news report for a project. He had fun with that! 

Then we had our Girl Scout meeting. We sat outside to do that! The weather today was just gorgeous. 

Al spent the day working on a cabinet for outside. It’s absolutely perfect!! 

We also had a fire pit tonight. We played some

Games and had our first s’mores of the season. 

All in all it was a really great day. 

Social distancing... day 57

Saturday 

Today when we woke up it was snowing!!! In May!!! I didn’t take any pictures because I didn’t want to believe it. But it was. Just another reminder of the insane world we are living in. 

The best part of the morning was the dinosaur donut drop off. That made us all smile! 

After that we dealt wirh an emergency computer repair. Having a broken computer is no good during remote learning. Thankfull al managed to fix it. 

This afternoon siobhan worked on her birthday gift. She put together a spin art machine. This was a ga tasked project and i hope the subscription keeps her busy! 

Really it’s a perfect birthday gift during this time! 

We also had a girl Scout meeting where we played a few new games. No badges today just socializing. And that’s okay! 

I had a rough day today. It’s super emotional to not be at cape cod this year for our annual feis. I’m so sad about it and I know aisling is too. It’s been sad all day around here. 

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day. It’s also sad not to be able to go anywhere. I’m hoping we can turn it into a fun day.
